Here are some things to consider:
- Are you bothered by the noise your indoor or outdoor unit makes?
- Is your house too humid or dry?
- Are your electricity bills too high?
- Does anyone have allergies in your home?
- Does your system seem to run constantly?
- Are your filters hard to access and/or replace?
- Does your thermostat seem to read the wrong temperature?
- Do odors linger in the house?
- Do you have some rooms hotter or colder than others?

- Continuous auto turn on/turn off of system
- Difficulty in adjusting or regulating air temperature
- Failure of cooling or heating
- Constant fan/blower operation (Won't turn off)
- Water leaking or pooling
- Overheating or freezing of any component
- Power loss at system start-up (lights dimming, etc.)
- Anything that seems abnormal or different in the overall operation of your system
Maintenance
Many local residents do not realize their home heating and air conditioning system operates approximately 3,300 hours per year. To put this into perspective, a car driven for the same 3,300 hours at 65 miles per hour would travel 214,500 miles. No one would consider such a journey without arranging for oil changes, lubrication, and routine tune-ups along the way to assure the efficiency, safety and reliability of the vehicle.
Your home heating and air conditioning system serves you many more hours than your car, and, like your car, needs routine tune-ups to operate in an efficient, safe, and reliable manner.
Our unique semi-annual Maintenance Inspection insures your heating and air conditioning system is operating at peak efficiency, and helps to eliminate emergency failure. We service any brand, even if we did not install it. Arranging a Maintenance Inspection twice a year is easy and affordable, just call us today!
Helpful Hints
Emergency repairs are inconvenient and unexpected. While in most cases it is necessary to call a professional technician to service your equipment, there are some simple items to check first. Before you schedule a service call, try some of these helpful hints.
- Determine if both components of your system are coming on:
- Confirm that your indoor section (air handler) is operating correctly.
- Confirm the outdoor unit or section (compressor and outdoor fan) is cycling off and on normally
- Check breakers (at each component and at each breaker panel)
- If component is not operating, reset any associated breakers. Do this by pushing fully to off position to reset and then back to the on position.
- If possible, check condition of filters and evaporator coil.
- Check for any obstructions in return and supply grilles. Remove any obstructions you may find.
- Check low voltage wiring, where visible, for signs of wear or other type of damage.
- Check thermostat to ensure it is in the proper position. Switch from heat to cool and back.
If nothing seems to work request a service call and be sure to mention what you found. You can save yourself money by helping our technicians find your problem faster. For further information, refer to our "How Your Air Conditioner Works" and "Glossary" sections on this website.
